Our Team

At Graceful Pilates, our instructors are at the heart of everything we do.

Each member of our team brings expertise, passion, and a commitment to helping you move with confidence and ease.

Grace Hurren
Studio Owner

I began my career in the fitness industry as a personal trainer in 2012 and went on to teach Pilates part-time alongside a successful corporate career as a personal assistant. Working across both roles allowed me to develop a unique skill set—combining expert movement coaching with strong organisation, attention to detail, and a deeply client-focused approach.

After being made redundant during maternity leave, I chose to turn a negative into a positive and pursue my long-held passion full time by opening my own Reformer Pilates studio. I wanted to create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive space—where everyone, regardless of background or experience, can feel confident, strong, and at home in their body.

With the professionalism and care shaped by my corporate background, and the knowledge and empathy built through years of coaching, my mission is to make Reformer Pilates accessible, empowering, and something you genuinely look forward to.

I can’t wait to welcome you into the studio.

Amba Suma

Instructor

My journey into Pilates grew from years of dedicated athletic training and love of movement. As a competitive swimmer from the age of seven, I balanced intensive pool sessions with Pilates and land-based conditioning, which became key parts of my athletic foundation. I create classes that are welcoming, positive, and suitable for all levels—while still encouraging you to challenge yourself and reach your full potential. Outside of pilates & fitness, you'll find me creating and designing, as I work as a graphic designer, or travelling!

Maddie Woodland

Instructor

Hey I’m Maddie! After completing my L3 Mat and Reformer qualification in 2025 I recently transitioned from a corporate girl in finance to a world of doing what I love. You’ll usually find me moving my body in some way whether that’s lifting weights, running, or flowing through Pilates. My classes are all about feeling strong, energised, and a little bit taller by the end. You can expect good vibes, mindful movement, and a burn in all the right places. Can’t wait to meet you all!

Robbie Fell

Instructor

Coming from a background in dance & musical theatre, I have been addicted to moving my body in as many ways as possible from an early age. My passion for movement translated into a mission to help others to find the joy in moving their bodies in new ways whilst gaining the strength and tools to move safely and technically.

I have been teaching different styles of dance to people of all ages for 10+ years alongside various other career avenues, but last year decided to channel my knowledge into a career in the fitness industry. I now work as a PT, strength & conditioning coach and Reformer Pilates teacher and love meeting new people everyday and being part of their fitness journey!

In my class we laugh, we sweat and we grow! Prepare to be challenged in a safe and supportive space. See you there 🙂

Steph Bruce Smith

Instructor

Steph is a mat and reformer Pilates instructor with specialist training in pre and postnatal. She has been teaching since 2023 and currently teaches postnatal reformer classes at Graceful Pilates in Wandsworth.

As a mum herself, Steph is particularly passionate about supporting women through every stage of motherhood, using movement to help them feel strong, confident and connected to their bodies. Her classes combine precise, technical cueing with a warm, supportive approach, creating a space where clients feel both challenged and cared for.

Lacey Edwards

Instructor

Lacey is a professional dancer who has had the opportunity to travel the world through her work. Pilates has been a consistent part of her training throughout her career. Now based in London, she teaches both mat and reformer classes. Lacey believes Pilates is for everyone and aims to leave her clients feeling uplifted after every session.

Bernice Caldeira

Instructor

Meet Bernice, but you can call her B or Bernie.

B has travelled all the way from South Africa and brings over 10 years of experience as a Level 3 Personal Trainer to the team.

She’s also qualified in Pre & Post Natal training, as well as Mat and Reformer Pilates - basically, if it involves helping you move, feel stronger and become your best self, she’s your girl.

Fun fact: She answers to B, Bernie… and possibly “the one who’s about to make your legs wobble tomorrow!”

Expect great energy, plenty of encouragement, and just enough of a challenge to keep you coming back for more.

Lauren Goodliff

Instructor

For almost five years, I’ve guided movement in beautiful studio spaces across London and Surrey, creating classes that nourish both body and mind. With a background as a registered nurse, personal trainer, and professional dancer, my approach blends science, intuition, and mindful movement to create an experience that feels both empowering and restorative.

I believe movement is medicine and away to reconnect with yourself, build resilience, and come home to your body. My classes are strong, intentional, and challenging, yet grounded in calm, leaving you feeling lighter, more connected, and deeply energised.

Annie Keir

Instructor

'I’m originally from Northamptonshire, and my approach to fitness is all about balance and sustainability. I have always loved mat and reformer and I trained to be an instructor in Bali. I believe in training in a way that feels good, builds strength, and fits seamlessly into your lifestyle—because it should be something you actually enjoy.

I’d describe my coaching style as upbeat and detail-focused, with a strong emphasis on form and control— expect a shake along the way.'

Claire Tappenden

Instructor

Claire discovered Pilates while balancing a corporate career, using it to build strength, improve posture, and feel better in her body.

What began as a personal practice soon grew into a passion, inspiring her to qualify in STOTT Pilates Matwork.  She is currently continuing her training in Reformer Pilates with Body Control Pilates.  With 9 years of teaching experience, she’s helped countless clients move and feel stronger.

Expect sessions that are lighthearted but challenging, controlled yet powerful. Claire’s all about precise alignment, steady progress, and building real, lasting strength.

Amber Brierley

Instructor

From professional dance to Pilates, movement has always been my thing. As a PT, I know how to get the best out of your body- but I keep things fun, supportive, and real. Expect good vibes, a great workout, and to leave every class feeling stronger and confident!
